Itinerary

The Start – Journey to Iran’s Borderlands

Your day begins with a morning pick-up from your hotel in Tabriz. Leaving the city behind, we drive north toward the beautiful Aras Valley, passing through rolling hills, rural villages, and mountain scenery along the way.

As we travel toward Jolfa, your guide will introduce the fascinating history of the region, a crossroads of cultures, religions, and trade routes that connected Persia, the Caucasus, and beyond.

The Experience – UNESCO Heritage, Silk Road History & Natural Wonders

Our first stop is the magnificent St. Stepanos Monastery, one of the most important Armenian Christian monuments in Iran and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Surrounded by mountains and protected by stone walls, the monastery is celebrated for its beautiful architecture, detailed stone carvings, and centuries of religious history.

A short drive brings us to the peaceful Chupan Church, a small historic chapel overlooking the Aras Valley. Despite its modest size, the church holds an important place in the history of Armenian communities that once traveled through this region.

We then continue to the historic Khajeh Nazar Caravanserai, a reminder of the Silk Road era when merchants and travelers crossed these borderlands. Walking through its courtyard offers a glimpse into the region's role in international trade and cultural exchange.

Next, we follow the scenic Aras River, enjoying spectacular views of the valley and surrounding mountains. Along the riverside, you'll learn about the geography and cultural diversity that make this area one of Iran’s most unique destinations.

After lunch at a local restaurant in Jolfa, we visit Asiab Kharabe Waterfall, a beautiful oasis hidden among green cliffs and flowing streams. The tranquil atmosphere, lush vegetation, and cascading water create a striking contrast to the surrounding mountain landscapes and provide a perfect final stop for photography and relaxation.

The End – Return to Tabriz

In the late afternoon, we begin our journey back to Tabriz. As the sun lowers over the mountains and valleys, enjoy the final views of this remarkable region where nature, history, and culture meet.

Upon arrival in Tabriz, we transfer you back to your hotel, bringing an end to a day filled with UNESCO heritage, borderland history, and some of the most beautiful landscapes in northwestern Iran.
