Today introduces you to the rich history and culinary traditions of Tehran, where influences from every corner of Iran come together.

We begin with visits to Golestan Palace, a UNESCO-listed royal complex, followed by the National Museum of Iran, where thousands of years of Persian history are brought to life through remarkable archaeological treasures.

Later, we head into the bustling Tehran Grand Bazaar, one of the city's most vibrant cultural hubs. As we explore its colorful alleys, you'll discover traditional ingredients that define Persian cooking, including saffron, rosewater, barberries, dried limes, and aromatic spice blends.

For lunch, we enjoy a traditional serving of Dizi (Abgoosht), one of Iran’s most beloved comfort foods. While dining, you'll learn about its ingredients, preparation methods, and the customs surrounding this classic Persian dish.

Day 3: Tehran to Tabriz – Azerbaijani Culinary Heritage

After breakfast, transfer to Mehrabad Airport for a short flight to Tabriz, the cultural heart of Iranian Azerbaijan.

Upon arrival, we explore some of the city's most important landmarks, including the Blue Mosque, the Constitutional House, and the UNESCO-listed Tabriz Grand Bazaar. Filled with spice merchants, sweet shops, dried fruits, and local delicacies, the bazaar offers a fascinating introduction to Azerbaijani food culture.

At lunch, we taste the famous Koofteh Tabrizi, a traditional meatball dish known for its rich flavors and family recipes passed down through generations.

In the evening, enjoy one of the most memorable experiences of the tour: a home-hosted dinner with a local Azerbaijani family. Sharing homemade dishes and stories around the table provides a genuine glimpse into Iranian hospitality and everyday life.

Overnight in Tabriz.

Day 4: Tabriz – Ardabil – Sarein

Leaving Tabriz behind, we travel through scenic mountain landscapes toward Ardabil, one of Iran’s oldest cities and an important center of culture and spirituality.

Our visit includes the UNESCO-listed Shrine of Sheikh Safi al-Din Ardabili, an architectural masterpiece and one of the country's most significant historical monuments.

As we continue exploring the region, you'll discover traditional dishes shaped by Ardabil’s cooler climate. Local specialties such as Ash-e Dough, Ash-e Miveh, and Torshi Garma showcase the unique flavors of northwestern Iran.

Later in the day, we continue to Sarein, a town famous for its natural hot springs. Enjoy a relaxing evening soaking in the thermal waters before dinner.

Overnight in Sarein

Day 5: Sarein – Masuleh – Fuman - Rasht

Today we journey toward the lush green landscapes of northern Iran and the Caspian coast.

Our first major stop is the picturesque village of Masuleh, where houses are built into the mountainside and narrow pathways replace streets. The village offers stunning views and a completely different atmosphere from central Iran.

Continuing to Fuman, we sample the town’s famous traditional cookies before heading onward to Rasht, the culinary capital of Iran.

Overnight in Rasht

Day 6: Rasht, UNESCO City of Gastronomy

Rasht is recognized by UNESCO as a Creative City of Gastronomy. We begin at the city's lively local market, where vendors offer an incredible variety of fresh herbs, vegetables, fish, olives, spices, and regional specialties.

The highlight of the day is a hands-on Persian cooking class led by local cooks. Using ingredients sourced from the market, you'll learn how to prepare traditional Gilani dishes such as Mirza Ghasemi and Baghali Ghatogh while discovering the techniques and traditions behind the region’s renowned cuisine.

After enjoying the meal we prepare together, we continue to the Rural Heritage Museum of Gilan, where traditional houses and exhibits provide valuable insight into local culture and rural life.

Our sightseeing includes Saad al-Saltaneh Caravanserai, one of the finest urban caravanserais in Iran, along with the Chehel Sotoun Pavilion, Jame Mosque, and the traditional Qajar Bathhouse.

At lunch, we sample Qeimeh Nesar, Qazvin’s signature dish and one of the most elegant rice-based specialties in Persian cuisine. Prepared with saffron, tender meat, almonds, pistachios, orange peel, and barberries, it reflects the city’s rich culinary heritage.

Spend the remainder of the day enjoying the relaxed atmosphere and historic charm of Qazvin.
