Itinerary

Day 1: Life with the Qashqai Nomads

After breakfast, your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Shiraz for a scenic drive into the Zagros Mountains. As the landscape changes from vineyards and rolling hills to rugged mountain valleys, you'll leave the city behind and enter the homeland of the Qashqai nomads, one of Iran's best-known tribal communities.

Upon arrival, you'll be warmly welcomed by your host family with freshly baked bread and traditional Persian tea. Unlike a recreated tourist attraction, this is a genuine nomadic camp where families continue to live according to centuries-old traditions. After settling into your traditional Siah Chador (black tent), you'll spend the day experiencing everyday nomadic life.

Depending on the season and the family's daily activities, you may accompany shepherds across the mountain pastures, learn how traditional bread is baked, observe milking and dairy production, watch colorful carpet weaving, or simply enjoy peaceful walks through the surrounding valleys. A homemade Qashqai lunch and dinner are served around the family table, offering a delicious introduction to local flavors and warm Persian hospitality.

As evening falls, gather around the campfire to hear stories about tribal life, seasonal migrations, and Qashqai traditions. On some evenings, your hosts may perform traditional music or, if you're especially fortunate, your visit may coincide with a local celebration or wedding. Spend the night beneath the star-filled skies of the Zagros Mountains in your traditional nomadic tent.

Overnight: Qashqai Nomad Camp

Day 2: Sunrise in the Zagros Mountains – Return to Shiraz

Wake early to experience one of the most peaceful moments of the journey as the first light spreads across the Zagros Mountains and the nomad camp slowly comes to life.

After a traditional breakfast of fresh bread, local cheese, honey, and Persian tea, you may join your hosts in their morning routines before saying farewell to your new friends. The return journey to Shiraz offers one last opportunity to admire the beautiful mountain landscapes while reflecting on an authentic cultural experience that few travelers ever have the chance to enjoy.

Arrive back in Shiraz around midday, bringing your unforgettable Qashqai adventure to a close.
